About Our Staff
Dennis Fancy- Director of Client Care
Dennis graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan and has been working in the health care field ever since. He has experience working in both the hospital and community settings. Trained as a community CancerCare pharmacist at the Health Sciences Center, he has extensive experience working with palliative care teams. As a pharmacist, Dennis enjoyed visiting seniors in their homes to counsel them on their medications, but was alarmed to see the difficulty many were experiencing while trying to remain in their homes. He realized that many of the people he visited were not getting the help they needed. Home Care Assistance is a personal journey for him to reach out to these seniors in need.
Kiara Wiens- Client Care Manager
Kiara Wiens has worked as a professional caregiver for 6 years and a Residential Home Manager for 1.5 years. Her passion to become a caregiver began when she used to visit her grandmother at work. Her grandmother was a caring, loving, and diligent health care aid. Kiara was inspired to bring the same happiness and joy to people as her grandmother once did.
Kiara entered the caregiving field as a casual caregiver while attending University of Manitoba. She then began full-time caregiving work, first in Alberta and then in Winnipeg following her return in 2015. Kiara has worked with people from all different backgrounds, ages and abilities. As Client Care Manager, Kiara ensures all aspects of our clients needs are being not only met but exceeded.
Kiara’s favorite quote is “if you love what you do, then you never work a day in your life” and strongly believes in creating a positive environment for both client and caregiver.
Jackie Stone- Employee Care Manager
Jackie comes from a care giving background herself! With over nine years of experience in the field, she is familiar with all the wonderful moments that can happen. She received her Developmental Service Worker certificate and began with direct support work in Fort Frances, ON. After five years she moved to Winnipeg where she began working as a Residential Supervisor, managing homes and advocating for the individuals that were supported within the home for two years before beginning her career at Home Care Assistance. Here, she gets to build relationships with our caregivers and clients, helping to ensure an ideal match for both clients and caregivers in order to develop meaningful relationships between them.
In her spare time, Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband and their son. They like to travel to Fort Frances to visit family, go fishing and stay busy!
Lindsey Fancy- Director of Operations
Lindsey worked as a Professional Engineer after graduating from Queen’s. Inspired by Dennis’ passion, Lindsey joined him in the journey to “Change the way the World Ages”. Having watched her grandfather suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, Lindsey is acutely aware of the immense struggles families face every day. She uses her years of professional experience to help lead the team and is excited to touch the lives of as many families as possible.
